Donat Kecambah (Split Black Gram Donut/Vada Recipe)

Bahan-Bahan:

  1. 2 Mangkuk Kecambah
  2. 1 sdt Jintan
  3. 1 sdt Butiran Merica (Keprak)
  4. 3 Buah Cabai Hijau ((Iris)
  5. 1 Buah Bawang Merah Ukuran Sedang (Iris)
  6. 1 atau 2 lembar Daun Kari (Iris Halus)
  7. 1 sdt Jahe (Iris)
  8. 1 sdt Daun Seledri/Daun Bawang (Iris Halus)
  9. Garam secukupnya
  10. Minyak Banyak untuk Menggoreng
  11. Air untuk menggiling adonan

Cara Membuatnya:

  • Rendam Kecambah selama 4 jam atau boleh juga semalaman dengan air yang cukup.
  • Dinginkan, tambahkan cabai hijau, merica, daun kari dan jahe. Blender sampai menjadi adonan yang halus. Tambahkan sedikit air kedalamnya.
  • Masukkan garam, dan aduk rata. Lalu dibagi menjadi 8 porsi yang sama. Sisihkan.
  • Basahi tangan, ambil 1 buah adonan dan letakkan ditangan.
  • Buat lubang ditengah adonan dengan ibu jari.
  • Panaskan minyak, gunakan api sedang. Masukkan adonan ke wajan dan goring.
  • Goreng Vada sampai kedua sisi berubah menjadi warna coklat.
  • Tiriskan minyak pada Vada dengan kertas penyerap minyak.
  • Vada siap disajikan dengan Teh/Kopi

Split Black Gram Donut/Vada Recipe

Ingredients:

  1. 2 Cup of Split Black Gram
  2. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  3. 1 tsp black peppercorn, whole or crushed
  4. 3 Green Chili (Chopped)
  5. 1 medium red onion, chopped
  6. 1 or 2 sprig curry leaves, chopped
  7. 1 tablespoon finely chopped ginger
  8. 1 teaspoon of coriander/celery leaves, chopped
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Oil for deep frying
  11. Some water if needed to grind dough

 

Process:

  • Soak the urad dal for 4 hours or overnight with enough water
  • Drain, add the green chillies, pepper, curry leaves and ginger and blend in a mixer to a smooth dough, adding little water
  • Add the salt and mix well and divide the mixture into 8 equal portions. Keep aside.
  • Wet your hand, take a portion of the mixture in your hand.
  • Make a hole in the centre with your thumb.
  • Heat oil in pan, use medium flame. Drop the dough to the pan and fry
  • Deep fry the Vada till both of sides turn brown color
  • Drain the Vada with absorbent paper.
  • Serve with hot tea or coffee.
